Over 500 dengue cases in Pakistan
October 11th, 2010 - 2:13 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Oct 11 (IANS) Five people have died of dengue and over 500 confirmed cases of the vector-borne disease have been reported from across Pakistan, an official said.
Dawn reported that at least 533 confirmed cases of dengue fever have been reported in Pakistan.
The federal secretary of health, Khushnood Ahmed Lashari, confirmed the number of dengue cases. He said that Sindh province has reported the highest number of dengue cases and the five deaths from dengue have also occurred in Sindh.
The official also said that 16 positive cases of dengue were reported in Islamabad.
