Over 10,000 HIV/AIDS patients in Kerala
September 16th, 2009 - 4:28 pm ICT by IANSThiruvananthapuram, Sep 16 (IANS) Kerala has 10,491 HIV/AIDS patients, Health Minister P.K. Sreemathi said Wednesday.
“This is the figure as of July 31,” Sreemathi told the state assembly.
She said Palakkad district, with 1,650 patients, had the highest number of HIV/AIDS cases followed by Thrissur (1,449) and Thiruvananthapuram (1,267). Waynad (142) had least number.
India has nearly 2.5 million people with HIV/AIDS.
