egg Aug 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A nationwide recall on eggs which were packaged between the dates of May 16 and Aug 13 has been issued by one of the largest egg producing companies in the United States, due to worries that they may be contaminated with salmonella.

Wright County Eggs, which is based out of Galt, Iowa, voluntarily initiated the recall and stated that the eggs in question will be packaged with stamps which will have one of the following three plant numbers: P1026, P1413 and P1946. Consumers are advised to check the end of their egg cartons, and if either of those three numbers are on it, look very carefully at the next number.

If those next number are between 136, and 225, (which represents the dates May 16 is the 136th day of the year, and Aug 13 is the 225th) then the customer will need to return the eggs to the store in which they were purchased, and a full refund will be issued.

The eggs which may contain salmonella are packaged under the following name brands, Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms, and Kemps. They are packaged in different sized cartons, from half a dozen to a dozen and a half sizes. Egg products were not effected.

The recall is considered to be nationwide, since these eggs are distributed to all of the states.
