Obesity In America May Rise By 42%
November 6th, 2010 - 9:38 pm ICT by Pen Men At WorkNovember 6, 2010 (Pen Men At Work): Obesity is one of the chief health problems that has affected the United States over the past years. Children and adults in America have fallen prey to the disease time and again. And health experts in the country have come up with a recent report which claims that the rate of obesity in the US may show a further increase of 42 percent in the years to come. According to the report submitted by a group of researchers from the Harvard University, obesity in America will go up by 42 percent in the next 40 years.
Enumerating on the factors which lead to a person becoming overweight, the Harvard University researchers have said that the prime factor making a man overweight is the company he maintains. The researchers are of the opinion that having a friend who is overweight may increase your chances of gaining weight too. However that does not necessarily mean that staying with thin people will help you lose weight.
In the report which has just been published, the researchers write that while fat-free food is the quickest means to shed the extra flab, government policies on health reforms in the United States are also determinants on how much weight a person will gain or lose! Drinking lots of water, close to eight glasses per day, will also help an American to bring down the obesity rate in his country say the Harvard researchers.
