No dengue case reported in Delhi Saturday
December 12th, 2009 - 8:00 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 12 (IANS) After a slew of dengue cases over the past three months, Delhi recorded no fresh case Saturday. Health officials said that this was because of the drop in temperatures.
“No dengue case was reported in Delhi Saturday. The reason is that mosquitoes causing dengue cannot breed in temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius,” Debashish Bhattacharya, the state’s nodal officer for dengue cases, told IANS.
As of now, the city has reported 1,146 cases of dengue and three deaths - that of a nine-year old boy, a 15-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man.
