Nestle recalls 10,260 pounds of Lean Cuisine frozen meals

New York, Mar 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Nestle Prepared Foods has issued recall for about 10,260 pounds of Lean Cuisine Simple Favorites following complaints associated with hard plastic found in the product.

Reports indicate that there have been complaints from three states concerning issues with hard plastics found in the spaghetti with meatball product. The US Department of Agriculture confirmed the complaints and said consumers should contact their point of purchase or call the Nestle hotline for full refund or replacement.

The recall affects products with establishment number P-7991. The affected products also have case code number 0298595519P printed on it. All the affected products have ‘UPC code of 13800-10390’ printed on the side. The expiry date for the recalled products is November 2011.

Nestle issued the recall details urging consumers with the affected products not to consume it but to return it for full refund or replacement. The statement was not clear on whether anyone has been sickened by the defect.

All the affected products were sold in states west of the Rockies. Nestle has dedicated its hotline 866-606-8264 to address all the concerns of consumers on the recall.
