White BreadApr 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Recent studies by Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori researcher Sabina Sieri has concluded the fact that women who are in the habit of consuming foods high in carbohydrate are prone to heart diseases. The research points out that the chief sources of carbohydrates which are found in white rice, pizza and white bread increases the blood sugar level which in turn makes women vulnerable to heart diseases. As of men, they are on the safe side as the same amount of carbohydrates intake doesn’t involve any risk owing to the fact that the chief component of carbohydrate, glycemic index gets processed in the male body in a different way from a woman.

Reportedly, all low glycemic index carbs like pasta is said to be safe as because the low glycemic index resides in very small levels which isn’t enough for causing a heart disease. Glycemic index meter which involves the study of carbohydrate intake by the body resides on a scale marked from 1 to 100 which determines the amount of carbohydrate intake by the person in his or her diet. 55 rank marking is regarded as a low glycemic index while any rank that margins more than 70 is said to have a high glycemic index. So to sum up we have 32,578 women and 15,171 men who formed a part of the research study which demonstrated that women with a glycemic index score of 70 or more than that are much more inclined towards having heart disease.

However, the National Cancer Institute team which discussed the reports of the study is unsure of the fact why having a high amount of glycemic index would affect women and not men. In regards to the issue, the team shall continue their research to open up more facts involving the study.
