Marie Callender Frozen Chicken Dinner Recalled Due to Salmonella

June 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tommy Irvin, Commissioner of Georgia Agriculture has made a statement to warn consumers of the recall of some of the Marie Callender chicken dinners which may be contaminated with Salmonella.

All 13 ounce packages of Marie Callender brand Cheesy Chicken and Rice White Meat Chicken and Broccoli over Rice Topped with Rich Cheddar Sauce frozen dinners are being recalled due to the fact that the products may possibly be tainted with Salmonella. The product date is irrelevant, since all of these meals are included in the recall.

These packages are packages by ConAgra Foods Packaged Foods LLC in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The packages in question will have a label which has establishment number ‘P-45′ inside where the USDA mark of inspection is located.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention launched an investigation which involved 29 in 14 states who contracted salmonellosis, from ingesting Salmonella. All of the people involved had eaten the Marie Callender meal in April and May before getting sick.

Salmonella infections will cause the following symptoms: Diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever within eight to 72 hours of ingestion. Other symptoms a person may suffer are: chills, headache, nausea and vomiting. These symptoms can last up to seven days.
