Man dies of swine flu in Delhi, toll eight
August 5th, 2010 - 9:23 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS) A man died of swine flu in the capital, taking the total number of deaths due to Influenza A (H1N1) in Delhi to eight, an official said Thursday.
“The man, admitted in the Safdarjung hospital, was not from Delhi,” Debashish Bhattacharya, nodal officer for swine flu, told IANS.
Delhi reported eight fresh cases of swine flu Thursday, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 132.
“Eight people, including a child, have tested positive for Influenza A (H1N1) in Delhi,” Bhattacharya said.
There have been as many as 1,692 swine flu related deaths in the country since its outbreak in May 2009.
