Oct 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) All over the United States during the month of October, walks, marches, and events are scheduled to raise money for the cause of breast cancer research. October is Brest Cancer Awareness in America, and thousands of people flock to these gatherings every year.

This coming weekend several thousand are expected to show up in Syracuse, New York at the Clinton Square for the annual ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ event, which is often called simply ‘Making Strides’.

The function’s organizer, Betsy Guilfoil explained, “We’re in our 15th year in Syracuse and Making Strides truly is about making strides. We’re raising money and awareness at the American Cancer Society so, hopefully someday, we won’t have to have walks like this because we will have a cure.”

To mark the starting point for the event, which is due to begin at 10 am on Sunday October 3, a pink stripe has been painted right down the middle of Erie Boulevard, right by Clinton Square.
