It’s honour for my organisation, not me: Padma Shri awardee
January 26th, 2010 - 10:50 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kolkata, Jan 26 (IANS) Surprised but happy, social activist Sudha Kaul feels the Padma Shri award given to her belongs to all those who worked collectively for the cause of disabled children in her Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy (IICP).
“It’s a great honour for my organisation for the work we have done for the disabled for over three decades. I don’t look at it as a personal award,” Kaul, the founder, trustee and vice chairperson of the IICP, told IANS.
“I am very happy,” she said.
Kaul said she was taken by “total surprise” when informed of the award Monday by a home ministry official.
