The Gurgaon resident is in the ICU of G.B. Pant Hospital hee. The status report released Friday by medical superintendent N. Shashi Gururaja said “she continues to be on ventilatory support and her condition is very critical”.
According to the doctors, Bala’s heart rate and blood pressure fluctuated after Thursday midnight, but was normalised with medicines.
“The patient had fluctuations in blood pressure and heart rate around 1 a.m. This was controlled by medicine,” the status report said.
Bala underwent a surgery for her spinal fracture. The doctors said her condition of paralysis remained the same.
“Surgery was done, decompression and fixation using plate, screw and cage,” Gururaja said.
He added that her condition was being controlled with increased medical intraventions.
“Her vital parameters are being maintained with increased pharmacological support,” the medical superintendent added.
Meanwhile, Bala’s daughter in law told IANS “there is hardly any improvement in her condition. She responds slightly to us, but is still in a critical state. Her mind is working but her body is too weak. She maybe operated but doctors don’t talk much about it”.
