Mar 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A recent research has revealed that impotent men are more likely to die of heart related ailments in comparison to non-impotent heart patients. The study which was carried out at a German university pointed out that erectile dysfunction could be a forecaster of heart attack or death due to heart related conditions.
In a statement that has been released by Dr. Michael Bohm of the Germany based University of Saarland, who headed the study, it has been revealed that erectile dysfunction could be an early indication of atherosclerosis and as a result details of impotency should be mentioned in the medical history of patients. Normally, impotency problems are evaded by the patients as they are embarrassed to talk about it to their doctors. The findings of the research which has been published in the journal Circulation, points out the fact that the men who are being treated for impotency should also be checked for cardiovascular ailments given the fact that impotent men are 10 per cent more likely to suffer from a cardiac arrest.
In the study which spanned across 13 countries, as many as 1,519 men were taken into consideration to shed light into the treatments of cardiovascular diseases while also taking into account the potency of the patients. During the research, which went on for a period of two years, it came to light that 11.3 per cent of impotent patients lost their lives in comparison to only 5.6 percent of the heart patients without any kind of erectile dysfunction problems. Meanwhile, the revelations of the research reiterates previous studies which has associated impotency with heart related ailments.
