New York, Mar 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The FDA has announced huge foods recall that will affect over 10,000 products. These products have been manufactured by the Basic Food Flavors, and the recall is being issued because of the Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (commonly known as HVP). There is a fear of salmonella contamination in HVP, and so over 10,000 products are being recalled.
HVP is said to be a flavor enhancer that is frequently used in processed and machine made food products. In snacks, it is used in potato chips and pretzels. Lays potato chips, which has the smoky bacon flavor, has also being added to the recall list. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced on Monday, that this product was being recalled over fears of salmonella contamination. The Lays smoky bacon flavor of potato chips will affect the 43 grams bags of chips, which are labeled to be ‘fresh between March 23 and May 4’ and the 235 grams bag of chips, which are said to be ‘fresh between the 23rd of March and the 27th of April’.
HVP is also used in other foods like dry mixes for the chip dips, gravy and marinades. It is a very common constituent of frozen food as well, like taquitos and quesadillas and even finger foods like potato salads and fresh dips.

When are Americans going to wake up and realize that buying and eating processed foods is unhealthy regardless if they are contaminated with salmonella or not. The ingredients used in most of these foods have significant side effects, the most common being OBESITY. Dr. Sardone author of The Naked Truth: Overweight, Overwhelmed and Confused google drsardone
