Heart attack may have killed British national: Goa police
October 26th, 2009 - 4:27 pm ICT by IANSPanaji, Oct 26 (IANS) The 39-year-old British national who was found dead in his room Sunday at a coastal resort in South Goa, 35 km from here, could have died of a heart attack, police said Monday.
Police officials who have sent William Scott’s body for a post mortem have reserved comments on the reasons of his death till the forensic examination is completed.
“Scott was staying at a hotel in Colva along with his friend Ajay Kaushal, an NRI settled in the UK. They were put up in different rooms,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Umesh Gaonkar told reporters.
The official further said that Scott had returned from a party on Saturday and had retired for the night. When Kaushal went to meet Scott in the morning, he found the door locked, after which he alerted the hotel staff.
“Scott was found dead with traces of froth in his mouth,” Gaonkar said.
Police officials had suggested on Sunday that the British citizen had died of a drug overdose. The statements of the hotel manager and the staff at the resort have been recorded.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death.
