Haryana to provide 24×7 health services

Chandigarh, May 15 (IANS) Round-the-clock health services will be provided by Haryana’s health department at all primary health centres and community health centres in the state, a minister said here Sunday.

“So far, 91 community health centres and 295 primary health centres have been covered under the scheme,” Haryana Health Minister Narender Singh said.

He was inaugurating a health centre in a village in Hisar district Sunday.

Singh said that a scheme would be formulated to provide uninterrupted power and direct water supply to all the hospitals.

“A medical mobile unit has also been set up in each district to provide health care to the people in remote areas. In addition to it, a provision of MRI machine has also been made at district level,” the minister added.

The minister said that Haryana was the first state in the country where free medicines were being provided to the patients.

The government has also introduced 101 referral ambulance services, comprehensive surgery package and delivery huts.

The health department is also preparing a smart card system for various health services, he added.
