Haryana to have three new medical colleges
April 15th, 2010 - 9:00 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, April 15 (IANS) Three new medical colleges, including one in memory of Kalpana Chawla, the first Indian-origin woman in space, will be opened in Haryana to provide better health care to people in the state.
Haryana’s Health and Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal said new medical colleges will be opened at Mewat, Khanpur Kalan and Karnal.
The medical college in Karnal will be named in memory of astronaut and space scientist Kalpana Chawla who was from the city.
Bhukkal said that the medical collage at Khanpur Kalan will be only for women.
Necessary approval for the new institutions will be obtained this year, officials said.
