Haryana doctors to strike work Tuesday
November 7th, 2011 - 9:35 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Nov 7 (IANS) Government doctors in Haryana are set to go on a strike Tuesday, despite the authorities warning them against the step and also assuring them that their demands on pay and other issues will be considered.
Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Health) Navraj Sandhu Monday assured representatives of the HCMS (Haryana civil medical services) Association that the state government is actively considering their demands.
The association had given a call to doctors to go to a mass casual leave Tuesday in support of their demands, which include making non-practising allowance (NPA) part of their basic pay, modification of post-graduate admission policy to make more doctors eligible for PG courses and increments to entire specialist cadre of doctors.
Sandhu appealed to all HCMS doctors to keep in mind their obligation towards the society.
She warned that stern action would be taken against erring doctors.
“Civil surgeons have been asked to maintain essential health services,” she said here.
