Gurgaon tops swine flu cases in Haryana
December 4th, 2009 - 10:46 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Dec 4 (IANS) Out of 1,191 positive cases of influenza A (H1N1) virus reported in Haryana hospitals, millennium city Gurgaon is leading the chart with 557 positive cases, health officials said Friday.
“So far, we have screened nearly 2,270 suspected cases, of which 1,191 tested positive. Besides, we have also tested 2,351 people who came in direct contact with positive patients,” said a state health department spokesman.
“Gurgaon has seen maximum number of cases (557), followed by Bhiwani and Sonepat districts with 177 and 127 cases respectively. 11 deaths, due to swine flu, have been reported in Haryana till now.”
According to official records, 562 cases, that is 47.2 per cent of total cases, have been reported positive from private laboratories in Haryana. All positive cases were successfully treated, except 213 patients who were still on home quarantine.
