Gujarat signs health agreements with 52 organisations
January 8th, 2011 - 9:52 pm ICT by IANSGandhinagar, Jan 8 (IANS) Gujarat’s health department has signed knowledge sharing memoranda-of-understanding (MoU) with 52 national and foreign institutions as part of the fifth Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors summit slated to be held next week, a statement said here Saturday.The organisations include Smile Train Inc. of the US, the largest global charity committed to treatment of cleft lip and palate, the Euro Skin Bank (ESB) that supports research in burn treatment, among others, the press release said.
Agreements have also been signed with overseas centres like State University of New York, Dutch School of Gynecology, University of South Florida and University of Utah, who have tied up with medical colleges in Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot and Jamnagar to cooperate in various fields, the statement added.
Karolinska Institute of Sweden, University of Aberdeen and Columbia University, among others, have confirmed knowledge sharing with the state government, the press release said.
