Ghaziabad man tests positive for swine flu

Ghaziabad, June 21 (IANS) A Ghaziabad resident, who works as a marine engineer with the merchant navy and recently returned from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, has been tested positive for swine flu, an official said Sunday.
Ghaziabad Chief Medical Officer (CMO) S.K. Dhawan said: “The man returned from Abu Dhabi on June 15 and was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi after being suspected of swine flu. The National Institute of Communicable Diseases has confirmed that he has been tested positive for H1N1 virus.”

The CMO said a team of specialised doctors was sent to the patient’s residence in Indirapuram. The team checked his mother and other family members and none of them showed any symptoms of the flu, he said.
