December 7th, 2009 - 9:27 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 7 (IANS) Four more swine flu patients have died in the Indian capital, taking the total to 34, officials said Monday. But they refused to count a fifth fatality because he was not from Delhi.
A nine-month infant died in St Stephens Hospital while a 52-year-old man breathed his last at the Mata Chanan Devi Hospital.
“Two suspected swine deaths were reported from the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital last week and were confirmed Monday. So, the four swine flu deaths takes the total to 34,” Anjana Prakash, state’s assistant nodal officer for swine flu, told IANS.
She said that another patient died in the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital late Sunday. “The patient was not from Delhi and we are not including the death in the cumulative total of Delhi.”
Delhi reported 198 fresh swine flu cases Monday. “The cumulative swine flu cases in Delhi now stands at 6,171,” she said.
