Five confirmed fresh swine flu cases in Bengal
August 4th, 2010 - 9:36 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Aug 4 (IANS) Five more people tested positive for swine flu in West Bengal Wednesday taking the number of confirmed cases of the contagious disease to 109 in the state this year, the health department said.
“Five confirmed cases of swine flu were reported today (Wednesday). The total confirmed cases of H1N1 infection is now 109 in the state,” the department said in a release.
Twelve people are now in hospitals, with one of them critical, it said.
Four persons have already died of swine flu this year in the state.
In 2009, a total of 135 people were affected by swine flu in the state. However, there were no casualties.
