FDA Issues Warning on ‘Magic Power Coffee’ Supplement
June 22nd, 2010 - 1:59 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonJune 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A warning was issued today (Monday) by the United States Food and Drug Administration about the consumption of the dietary supplement known as ‘Magic Power Coffee’.
According to the FDA, this product is being sold all over the country through the internet in a multilevel marketing scheme as a sexual enhancement product. The problem with the medication is that it contains a drug similar to the active ingredient in Viagra, sildenafil, which is hydroxythiohomosildenafil.
This drug may interact with other drugs, just as Viagra can, and may cause adverse effects when taken without a doctor’s advice, such as drops in blood pressure, rapid heart rate, anxiety, nausea and others. Many people choose such supplements in an effort to avoid Viagra type drugs and their side effects.
In a statement released by officials, “Consumers who have Magic Power Coffee should stop using it immediately. The FDA advises consumers who have experienced any negative side effects from sexual enhancement products to consult a health care professional and to safely discard the product.”
