“Delhi today (Monday) recorded eight new cases of dengue. The severity of the spread of the disease is now much lesser than past weeks,” Debashish Bhattacharya, state nodal officer for dengue cases in Delhi, told IANS.
Until now there have been two confirmed deaths because of dengue in the city - one of a 15-year-old boy and the other of a nine-year-old boy.
According to the health department, the number of dengue cases will go down in the coming days since the carrier-mosquitoes causing the disease cannot breed in temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius.
