eggs1Nov 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Traces of Salmonella that has been located at an egg farm in Ohio has prompted a recall while the farm is related to two Iowa based farms, as it has been found. The Iowa egg farms earlier issued another egg recall this year. The company named Cal-Maine Foods Inc. is the largest egg reseller of USA. It said that it would recall 288,000 eggs purchased from Ohio Fresh Eggs. However, no illness has been reported so far. As per the information given by the company, no illness or infection has been reported as yet.

The affected eggs have been sent to some U.S. states like California, Kansas, Iowa, Oklahoma and Missouri. Ohio Fresh eggs on its part said that evidence of Salmonella was found and some of the eggs were shipped out by mistake. The Ohio Department of Agriculture is keeping a tab over the developments. The eggs coming from the supplier Ohio Fresh Eggs tested positive the previous month during a FDA routine check. Some of these eggs were re-packaged and processed by the Arkansas facility of Cal-Maine Inc. It took place in the second week of October. However, Cal-Maine Inc. came to know about it only on November 5th after which the decision to recall the eggs was taken. Ohio Fresh Eggs has commented that they are committed to working closely with the customers as well as the FDA to make sure that a complete and swift recall of the potentially contaminated eggs takes place.

The frequent egg recalls this year has also caught the attention of the FDA. The public has also become skeptical about the standards maintained by the manufacturing farms.
