Eating Resistant Starch Foods Makes You Thinner?

The findings of the study which was recently published in the Health Magazine points out that resistant starch foods might indeed play a significant role in helping you shed the extra kilos without much deliberations. The research which was carried out by the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center for Human Nutrition, has definitely been welcomed by those trying their best to get the perfect hour-glass figure while getting rid of their ever-increasing waistline.

During the study which took into account as many as 4,451 respondents, the researchers concludes that slim people usually tend to eat more carbohydrates in comparison to obese individuals, who end up consuming lesser amount of the nutrient. Apart from the amount of carbs, the types of carbohydrates that are consumed by people is also a determinant factor in deciding the amount of calories that we gain. Researchers say, eating resistant starch foods is always much more preferable as it enables people to “eat less, burn more calories, feel more energized and less stressed, and lower cholesterol.”

The main reason which gives resistant starch foods the edge over regular starch foods is that the former gets digested in the body for a longer period of time, which results in warding off the hunger pangs for a longer duration, thus lowering the frequency of eating. Consequently, the amount of calories that are consumed by the body in the process is significantly less.
