Dengue cases reach 999 in Delhi
November 22nd, 2009 - 4:35 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS) With seven new cases of dengue reported in the national capital Saturday and Sunday, the total number of people infected with the vector-borne disease has touched 999, a health official said.
“Seven new cases were recorded within last 24 hours and with that dengue cases in Delhi have reached 999,” state nodal officer for dengue cases Debashish Bhattacharya told IANS.
According to the Delhi health department, the dengue cases are likely to come down within next seven to 10 days with the fall in temperature.
So far, two dengue deaths have been reported in the capital - one of a nine-year-old and another of a 15-year-old boy.
