June 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Matt McClellan is an athlete who owns a pizza parlor, which sounds lie a contradiction all by itself, but when you add to it the fact that he claims to have lost 24 pounds by eating pizza, and the story begins to sound a little too good to be true.

But McClellan simply wants to the the whole country know that pizza is much “healthier than other fast food.” He also adds that he is not just saying that to sell pizza, because he said that pizza will sell itself.

“Pizza is not junk food. We just need to eat it different[ly]. We’re trained to eat it wrong — we’re trained to eat a whole large pizza at midnight with a two liter of soda and fall asleep,” the cyclist said to ‘ABC’.

Matt McClellan ate one slice of pizza every three hours, and worked out for one hour each day. By staying on this “pizza diet” he managed to lose 24 pounds and five inches off his waistline. He has decided to spread the story of his diet through a ‘Tour de Pizza” bike tour which will last 30 days and began in Florida.

The tour is set to end in Times Square on July 4. He is in hopes that his bike tour will end the stigma which is often associated with pizza, and challenge Americans everywhere to begin a healthier lifestyle. “If I can ride my bike to New York, come on America, you can spend one hour a day getting healthier,” he smiles.
