Consumption Of Raw Milk Worth The Risks-Say Advocates
July 20th, 2010 - 6:55 pm ICT by Pen Men At WorkJuly 20, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Consumption of raw milk has been banned by the FDA across the country due to serious health issues. However, drinking the milk in its raw form may actually benefit you, so report a group who advocate the cause. It can also form a part of a healthy diet, they emphasize.
Some people also believe that raw milk cannot really harm human beings even though it has been explicitly banned by the Food and Drug Administration. The reports gain more credence as the experience of the 29 year old young mother, Liz Reitzig has been quite happy so far. She takes along her two year old son Duncan to the various Pennsylvania farms where she purchases it in exchange of $5 -$7 per gallon.
Most of the states have placed a ban on selling of milk that is not pasteurized or treated properly. However, people have found out a way to go around the law. Most of them buy shares of cattle or goat and then simply collect the milk at pre determined points.
Liz Reitzig is not really happy that she can feed her kids with fast food legally but have to find out a way to evade the law when it comes to fresh and healthy milk. She states that her family has been thriving on it for the last six years since she had had her second child. They have had very little reason to visit the doctor since then and her children have remained healthy with allergies and symptoms of milk intolerance being relegated to the past.
However, the regulations of the FDA are not without reason either. Raw milk is said to contain extremely harmful micro organisms like the salmonella and E.Coli which can make people very sick indeed! Will consumption of raw milk be worth the risks then?
