Washington DC, Jun 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) ConAgra Foods is going to recall Marie Callender’s cheesy chicken and rice frozen meals. The reason behind the recall is the salmonella outbreak, which has erupted in over 14 states.

ConAgra Foods said that they were going to recall the products, because the Center for Disease Control and Prevention informed them that there could be some association between the cheesy chicken and rice frozen meals and outbreak of diseases. There were reports that 29 people fell ill, and out of these 29 people, nine people said that they had eaten the product prior to their illness.

The recall was announced by the Agriculture Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. They said that the most recent outbreak of the illness was said to have occurred on the 22nd of May.

So now the company has left with no option, but to recall all the meals which have the labels of “Marie Callender’s Cheesy Chicken and Rice White Meat Chicken and Broccoli over Rice Topped with Rich Cheddar Sauce” irrespective of the production date on the meal packets. Numerous retailers through out the nation had sold the recalled product.
