Jan. 02, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A whole new world has opened up to all the figure conscious diet freaks. Now, it is possible to lose significant weight even while munching on one’s favorite fast foods. Or so claims the noted fast food joint, Taco Bell. In fact, the spokesperson for the joint, Christine Dougherty, who also appears in most of the commercials of the company, claims that she has managed to lose 54 pounds in two years, the span in which she tried out the diet scheme fast food on offer at Taco Bell.
The diet food offered by Taco Bell is listed under the “Fresco” menu at the restaurant. The items consist of the regular fast food that can be found at any snack joint. What puts these items apart from the rest is that each item in the menu contains less than 350 calories, whereas the options available in the regular menu can measure up to 1,000 calories. However, there is a catch. The advertisement for the “Drive-Thru Diet” mentions that Christine, during these two years, had eaten no more than 1250 calories, which is slightly more than the regular amount of calorie intake of any woman.
Moreover, the commercial insists that the result achieved by Christine Dougherty may not be reached by all. Also, the food available in this menu is not low calorie, regular diet food, but merely lesser in calories than the other options in that very joint itself. As many dietitians will claim, it is likely that opting for the Fresco menu at Taco Bell was part of Christine Dougherty’s weight loss program, that must have included a lot of changes in her lifestyle as a whole.
