May 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Those who are worried of the side effects of Viagra and yet want to give a boost to their sex life can take heart. A recent study has claimed that people can get the same benefits through celery, a common vegetable. The claim has been made by the co-authors of the book named ‘Stay Young: Ten Proven Steps To Ultimate Health.’ They are of the opinion that a person can give a boost to his love life by eating celery stick. They have argued that the stalk of the vegetable contains androstenone, a steroid that results in the body emitting sex scent which attracts the opposite gender. Hence, it may help a person in boosting his sex life.

However, it is not yet proven scientifically and hence the claim of the authors should be taken with a pinch of salt. The authors have written that apart from eating celery a man needs to work out and follow a healthy lifestyle to stay attractive. Christina Fernandez, the Argentinean president said earlier this year that eating pork can increase one’s libido but that claim has not been validated either. In fact nature has a number of other aphrodisiacs with proven efficiency.

A Russian plant named Rhodiola and Horny Goat Weed, a Chinese plant are known to be good aphrodisiacs. There are certain aphrodisiacs in the market that should only be taken after a doctor prescribes them. There are several artificial products and OTC drugs as well. Before someone starts taking such elements in their diet, they need to verify if it is accepted and recommended by a leading medical organization or not.
