Washington, June 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Campbell Soup Company has announced its decision to recall a total of 15 million pounds of SpaghettiOs. Reportedly, one of the cookers back at the company’s plant in Paris, Texas reported a malfunctioning which is said to have left the beef along with the noodles remain “Underprocessed”.
The manufacturing plant which prepares the end product for a can of pre-cooked Spaghettios, meatballs and the noodles usually cooks the meat with sauce and noodles separately. Following that, the products are all put together inside the can and sealed. As a commercial sterility check these cans are passed on to giant cookers under heavy temperature. The commercial sterility is a regular test that ensures the cans to be free from bacteria which might spoil the contents of the can.
So what exactly happened at the plant that forced the company for a recall? Well as Campbell spokesman Anthony Sanzio said inspite of repetitive attempts the cookers holding the cans weren’t getting hot to confirm the commercial sterility check for the cans. They feared that cans might have been affected by bacteria and hence they were left with no other option but to announce the recall.
The company said that they couldn’t take any risk with the products as these are usually consumed by the kids and if the contents of the can are affected by bacteria then it might lead to nausea or vomiting. Reportedly, a large number of cans which falls under the recall list has been already consumed by the buyers.
However, the company have still urged all consumers to return any unused cans of SpaghettiOs. The recall affects the popular varieties of the SpaghettiOs which includes SpaghettiOs Fun Shapes with Meatballs, SpaghettiOs with Meatballs and SpaghettiOs A to Z with Meatballs.
