med New York, May 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) McNeil Consumer Healthcare has issued a recall for Benadryl, Motrin, Zyrtec, Tylenol and Tylenol Plus. This recall is part of 40 children medicine’s that have been taken off from the stores, as they failed to meet the stringent quality standards. The recalls are in effect in United States, Canada and 10 other countries as well. However in Canada only a few children medications are part of the recall like Children’s Tylenol Cough & Runny Nose liquid suspension, Children’s Motrin and infants Motrin liquid suspension.

This recall apparently seems like a voluntary recall, as it is not mentioned on the FDA website as yet. The company officials did add that even though the medications have been recalled due to very low quality standards, yet no adverse reactions have been reported after imbibing them. Instead the company officials revealed that the recall is in place, because it might a higher percentage of a very active ingredient than the percentage specified on the packaging, or the formula might have some ‘impurity’ particles that should not be a part of the formula at all.

Anxious parents and other people can visit the mcneilproductrecall.com web site for more information on the recall and the recall procedure to be followed.
