Beer New York, Feb 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) This new report is going to be liked by all the beer fans. The National Institute of Health says that drinking beer may help in strengthening your bones, thanks to the high silicon content in it. The officials at the National Institute of Health say that dietary silicon in the soluble form of orthosilicic acid (OSA) may be important for the growth and development of bone and its connective tissue. The dietary silicon in the soluble form of orthosilicic acid (OSA) will also help to reduce the risk of the bone-thinning disease osteoporosis.

These findings suggest that moderate beer drinking is recommended for strong bones, and to fight osteoporosis as well. However researches also said that the actual content of dietary silicon in beer, hasn’t been thoroughly evaluated till now. But all the same, experts do agree that beer indeed is a significant source of bone-building silicon in OSA form.

In this study 100 brands of beer, which are commercially available were analyzed, and their approximate average silicon content ranged from 6.4 to 56.5 milligrams per liter (mg/L). There is no known recommended daily intake of beer, however the experts do say that an average daily intake of 20-50 milligrams would be good. So based on this assumption, 1-2 liters of beer (depending upon the actual content of silicon in that particular beer) would be enough, to satisfy the daily silicon requirement of the body.
