Dover, Mar 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kristi Hayes, the Berwick baby sling maker has called it safe to wear baby slings if they are being used in the very same way that they are prescribed to do. Earlier to this, Inez Tenenbaum, the chief of the Consumer Product Safety Commission had declared how they were planning to issue a ban on the use of baby slings which they think are a possible threat to suffocate the infant to death. The Commission had made it a point to declare how the clothing used for making baby slings are dangerous for the infants as it wraps the baby in a curved manner which eventually cuts off the air supply that leads to suffocation.

The Commission’s decision to issue a ban on the use of baby slings received am impetus as statistic reports indicated of 14 deaths in a span of 20 years. In each case the root cause was found to be the clothing pattern in which the baby sling was made.

However, the owner of Gypsy Mama, Kristi Hayes is of the belief that this old age practice of carrying babies in the sling is a safe method and thus this issue should be dealt with more effort and focus. She also added that baby slings are made to provide utmost comfort to the baby by holding the infant’s spine and neck in a supple manner compared to nothing else. Kristy Hayes is worried about the decision to raise a ban upon the use of the baby slings which she thinks will be a spoiler for her baby sling maker business.
