Another death in main Pune hospital tackling swine flu
August 13th, 2009 - 3:17 pm ICT by IANSPune, Aug 13 (IANS) A 75-year-old woman died Thursday in the Sassoon Hospital here, which the Maharashtra government has designated as the nodal hospital for swine flu control in the city. However, it wasn’t clear whether she was suffering from the viral disease.
Bharti Goyal died just before noon. She was on a ventilator in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Sassoon Hospital, Joint Director (Health Services) P.S. Chavan told IANS.
Goyal had been shifted to Sassoon Hospital from KEM Hospital Wednesday with breathlessness.
Chavan said her swine flu test report had not been received yet.
Maharashtra has had the maximum number of deaths due to swine flu - 11 in Pune, two in Mumbai and one in Nashik.
One death each has been reported from Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.
