Nov 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A couple in America have set up a poll on a website that will determine whether their child will live or die, literally. In what can be called a bizarre decision on behalf of to-be parents to leave the fate of their unborn baby in the hands of the netizens, the couple have in turn come under heavy criticism from several groups and bloggers. The couple have revealed that they have been trying for a baby for years and the woman has already suffered two miscarriages, they are still ‘unsure’ whether they want the baby or not.

Alisha Arnold, the to-be mom is 17 weeks pregnant and is hoping that she can take her final decision before the 20 week deadline. The couple have said that they genuinely cannot take a decision about the baby and therefore are looking for the intervention of others. They have revealed that the decision of the public would influence their decision heavily. The most recent results indicated that almost 80% of the people voted in favor of keeping the baby.

Alisha Arnold wrote in her blog that she is not sure whether she is ready to become a mother alongside her ongoing duty of being a wife and a full-time employed individual. She added that she is convinced that the added pressure would make her brain implode and she might have a nervous breakdown. Several people have also been highly critical of the couple on the website with one claiming that the polling decision proves that they are not yet ready to be parents. The poll will be open till December 7, which is just two days before the 20-week deadline for abortion.
