cancer1Washington, May 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The American Cancer Society has stated that the report of the government on cancer and its causes is a case of overstatement. The report was published by the American Cancer Panel on Thursday, online, and since then, the American Cancer Society has much criticized it, saying that the severity and the direness of the subject has been dealt too seriously in the report. The report deals with the possible harm that can be caused by chemicals and environmental exposures. In fact, the report also states that so far, the susceptibility of the people to such cancers has been ‘grossly underestimated.’

The report presented by the American Cancer Panel states that the chemicals that are contained in pesticides, and also the chemicals used for industrial purposes can all be classified as possible carcinogens. Moreover, the report also states the possibility of contracting cancer from too much exposure to the sun, medical X-Rays and vehicle exhaust. In fact, the report also dwells upon the possibility of contracting cancer from plastic containers. The report also comes with a cover letter, addressed to the President Barack Obama, asking him to remove all the carcinogens that are used for daily purposes.

The letter urges the President to remove those carcinogens not only for the health of the nation, but also because they incur an added expenditure on the nation, by way of the health care costs. The story, in fact, sounds quite grim if one takes into account the fact that out of all the chemicals that are used for various purposes in the country, only a few are tested okay.
