December 19th, 2009 - 11:40 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kolkata, Dec 19 (IANS) Depression apparently prompted an AIDS patient to jump to her death Saturday from the third floor of the hospital where she was admitted, police said.
Lakshmi Samanta, a 25-year-old woman residing at Tarakeshwar in Hooghly district, was admitted Friday to the School of Tropical Medicine in Kolkata by members of an NGO, police added.
“She seemed mentally very depressed, but did not show any signs that she was going to take the extreme step. So, everyone was taken completely aback when she jumped from the third floor,” a source at the hospital said.
