96 new dengue cases in Delhi
September 30th, 2010 - 9:36 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 30 (IANS) Delhi Thursday reported 96 new cases of dengue, taking the number of people infected with the fever to 2,397.The vector-borne disease has claimed five lives so far in the national capital.
“No new deaths have been reported in the last three weeks,” said N.K. Yadav, health officer of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
With just three days left for the Delhi Commonwealth Games to begin, the MCD has intensified fogging operations at the Games Village and various venues.
South Delhi, location for prominent Games venues, has been the worst affected, reporting 468 cases so far.
“We advise people to check breeding points in their houses. Consult a doctor if fever continues after three days,” Yadav said.
