New York, July 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Perduce Farms Inc. announced on Monday that they were recalling nearly 92,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets from all around the United States.

The company said the reason for the recall was because the chicken nuggets contained foreign materials.

The products affected are those that bear the establishment number “P-33944″ with the case code of “89008A0160″ at the back of the product’s packaging. The products have the “BEST IF USED BY” date of June 9, 2011 on the packaging material. All the affected products were made on June 9, 2010. All the affected products were shipped to a single retail store, which has branches nationwide.

Among the various varieties being recalled is the 1lb 13oz bag of the brand “GREAT VALUE Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets.”

The recall is supervised by the USDA. Though there has not been any report of injury or death associated with the affected products, there have been several consumer complaints to the company.

The company described the foreign materials as small pieces of blue plastic. It is not immediately clear where the foreign material came from into the nuggets.
