69 more cases of dengue detected in Delhi
September 13th, 2010 - 7:08 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 13 (IANS) The surge in the number of dengue cases in Delhi continued Monday with 69 new cases, taking the total number of people infected with the vector-borne disease to 1,857.
According to a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) official, there have been five dengue deaths this year.
South Delhi is the worst affected area this season, recording 287 cases, followed by the MCD’s central zone (240) and the Civil Lines (235).
According to the MCD, 1,153 dengue cases and three deaths were reported in 2009, 1,312 cases and two deaths in 2008, 548 cases and one death in 2007, and 3,366 cases and 36 deaths in 2006.
