63 more dengue cases in Delhi
August 30th, 2010 - 11:22 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 30 (IANS) Delhi reported 63 new cases of dengue Monday, taking to 829 the total number of people affected by the mosquito-borne disease in the city, an official said.
“Sixty-three people have tested positive for dengue in Delhi today (Monday), but no deaths were reported,” said N.K. Yadav, chief medical officer, Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
However, thousands of suspected cases of dengue have been reported by private hospitals in south Delhi.
According to MCD health officials, two people have died of dengue in Delhi. Three more deaths, suspected to be from dengue, have also been reported.
Places like Jamia Nagar, Okhla in south Delhi and Shahdara in east Delhi have reported the maximum number of dengue cases.
