56 people hospitalised after food poisoning
May 21st, 2011 - 1:20 am ICT by IANSRaipur, May 20 (IANS) As many as 56 people, most of them minors, were hospitalised Friday in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district after they complained of sickness - some of them falling unconscious - soon after eating food at a marriage party, police said.
The victims, including 52 minors, were rushed to Maharani Hospital at Jagdalpur town when they began vomiting.
A few of them fell unconscious soon after having a sweet dish at a marriage party in Kumhali village, officers at the police headquarters here said.
“It was a clear case of food poisoning. The patients were stated to be out of danger,” police sources said referring to doctors.
