New York, May 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Tuesday that Rashti & Rashti has been asked to recall more than 44,000 pink baby blankets that might pose choking hazard for babies. The risk is associated with the fact that the decorative balls of the giraffe’s horn in the design can fall off. However there have been no reported injuries, as of now.
The blankets had been imported from China and were sold in Target Stores between January and August 2009. The blankets were sold for $9 each, and now as part of the recall they should be returned to Rashti & Rashti for a full refund. The Consumer Product Safety Commission had earlier this week announced the recall of toy dart guns from China for safety concerns in children. The toy dart gun had claimed the lives of two boys.
Officials at Rashti & Rashti said that they are cooperating with authorities to ensure that the recall is successful. They announced that people who have already bought the blankets should call their shop and get a full refund. The blankets measured 14 inches by 14 inches, and were meant for small babies.
