Fresno, Dec 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Beef Packers Inc. is recalling some of its beef products because there are concerns that it might possibly be contaminated with salmonella. It looks like that this Fresno based beef company is in big trouble as this is the second recall in 4 months.
This particular recall will affect almost 23,000 pounds of ground beef. And this supposedly contaminated beef was sent to a distribution center in Arizona.
Food safety officials say the ground beef has been linked to two illnesses.
The plant’s parent company, Cargill Meat Solutions, has not issued any statement to quell the fears of contamination or illness nor has confirmed the recall too.
N.M. A Safeway spokesman said the recalled product is no longer in stores and urged customers to check all ground beef in their freezers and discard any with “sell by” dates of Sept. 28 through Oct. 11. The recalled products include fresh ground beef, beef patties, meatballs and stuffed peppers.
It may be recalled that the last beef recall happened in August, when the company recalled 800,000 lbs of ground beef products because of concerns that it was linked to an outbreak of Salmonella.
