21 swine flu deaths take India’s toll to 852 (Roundup)
December 26th, 2009 - 11:24 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 26 (IANS) At least 21 more swine flu deaths have taken the country’s toll due to influenza A (H1N1) to 852, the health ministry said Saturday.
A total of 225 new cases were also reported in the country Saturday, taking the total number of people affected to 24,932, a ministry statement said.
Meanwhile, a man identified as Rajesh Dubey, suspected to be a swine flu patient, died in a Jammu hospital. His samples have been sent for testing.
According to the Delhi government, the national capital reported 88 fresh cases Saturday of which 42 were children. With this the total affected in the city has reached 9,071.
New cases were also recorded in Rajasthan (45), Haryana (19), Maharashtra (16), Gujarat (14), Punjab (11), Chandigarh (7) and Uttar Pradesh (6).
