January 9th, 2010 - 4:01 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Jan 9 (IANS) Fifteen students had to be treated at a health centre in Bolangir district of Orissa Saturday after they consumed a midday meal in school, laced with a detergent.
The students of Janipali UP School in Duduka block of the district were admitted to Salevata Primary Health Centre after they ate a midday meal laced with a detergent, which the cooks unwittingly added in place of salt, said district Chief Medical Officer P.C. Sahu.
“This led to food poisoning,” he said, adding the students complained of vomiting, nausea and stomach pain following which they were rushed to the health centre.
The condition of all of them is said to be stable.
